Well had a look, works fine. Use the alternative CD and select manual partitioning i had one normal /boot then the the rest as type encrypted, the rest is obvious, works well! thank you! Yes please. This is something that needs to be included by default for laptop users in particular. Do you believe this isn't happening because of politics or lack of interest? Well dm-crypt is still missing from the installer in Feisty, and seems to be missing in Gutsy i can see not plans to include it in the upcoming Gutsy. Yeah, it didn't happen because cryptsetup, upstart, and usplash weren't friends. The d-i in Etch now has dm-crypt support for some time (don't know for how long exactly), but last time I checked the d-i in Edgy did not. I guess the last sync with upstream was before they added it.
