[Bug 397544] Re: Big apt-check memory leak

2012-02-02 Thread Robert Roth
Thank you for reporting this bug to Ubuntu. Jaunty reached EOL on October 23,
2010.
Please see this document for currently supported Ubuntu releases:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Releases

I've tried recreating this bug with Oneiric and was unable to, given the
information you've provided. Please either a) upgrade and test or b)
increase the verbosity of the steps to recreate it so we can try again.

Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

2009-09-09 Thread jpangamarca
@benjaminzsj I forgot to say this before, i moved the apt-check
executable to another folder and that ended the hangs. I haven't noticed
any adverse effects, which, must exist for sure. Any ideas, anyone?

[Bug 397544] Re: Big apt-check memory leak

2009-09-07 Thread benjaminzsj
I'm having the same problem on my Jaunty, after updating software
through Synaptic, total hang it is. Only the hard disk grind makes me
realise the machine is still running, I believe the process uses up all
my memory as well as swap space. So is there a way to disable apt-check?

I forgot, just before the total hang happened, update-manager reported
with an error message that there wasn't enough memory to allocate.
