I do not know if it showed up in the bug report, but I am running a KDE desktop in case that matters. I tried the "Report Builder" and "Lorem Ipsum" extensions as well as a couple random ones that I do not recall from: http://extensions.services.openoffice.org/ The one that is really important for me at the moment,though, is Zotero's OO.o integration extension from: http://www.zotero.org/download/integration/OOo-Plugin-2.0a2/Zotero.oxt I have attempted to install it running as a normal user (UID=1000) and as root. In both cases, the error was as initially reported. Unzipping the .oxt files shoes that the extension binaries look sane and uncorrupted. I seems that the extension manager is somehow mangling the file descriptor, though this is an uneducated guess.
