[Bug 436066] Re: Human theme vertical scroolbars have borders on maximized windows
Does this happen when using gnome-terminal, by the way? FYI, I found a bug in Gnome's bugzilla that refers to Maximized scroll bar against screen edge: https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387139 Looks like other possible sources of this kind of issue might be the Application, Gtk, metacity, in addition to the Theme. ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #387139 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=387139 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/436066 Title: Human theme vertical scroolbars have borders on maximized windows -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 436066] Re: Human theme vertical scroolbars have borders on maximized windows
New in Lucid Lynx 10.04. Bug still present with new theme. But now this also happens with the window buttons. @unimatrix: This tone is unnecessary and goes against the code of conduct. [Bug 436066] Re: Human theme vertical scroolbars have borders on maximized windows
@Kenneth: the tone only reflects reality... and the comment WAS constructive. I've tested whether anything had been done in regards to this bug in Lucid. I found out that the situation had become worse. That is what I reported. If only everyone focused on the bugs instead of this code of conduct mumbo jumbo maybe we wouldn't even need these reports. -- Human theme vertical scroolbars have borders on maximized windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/436066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 436066] Re: Human theme vertical scroolbars have borders on maximized windows
@unimatrix: saying that an entire team of people only ever makes things worse is simply not acceptable and does not help any person in any way or further the discussion. The code of conduct is not mumbo jumbo - it is a necessary part of working together on Ubuntu. ** Changed in: human-theme (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist -- Human theme vertical scroolbars have borders on maximized windows https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/436066 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 436066] Re: Human theme vertical scroolbars have borders on maximized windows
@unimatrix: I can still reproduce this in the Human theme, but it isn't happening for me in Ambiance or Radiance. It is probably a window manager thing on your end; Compiz does strange things with mouse events on the edge of the screen, especially when you turn on the hot corners stuff. (I use Metacity). As for the window buttons, that was discussed in another bug report and a decision was reached to intentionally shrink the corner button's clickable area. (In essence, it shouldn't be that easy to close a window).
Are you kidding me? What bug is that? Could you please link me? I can't believe this is happening. They are intentionally crippling Ubuntu. As for Compiz, I know it does this, especially with the Rotate Cube plugin, but I've disabled that. And yes, some themes have been fixed, but the best ones still have the problem (for example Dust Sand).

** Description changed: - The new Human theme's Human controls use scrollbars that have borders on maximized windows (Firefox, Nautilus, ...) + The new Human theme's Human controls in Ubuntu Karmic use scrollbars that have borders on maximized windows (Firefox, Nautilus, ...) This violates Fitts's law ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fitts%27s_law ) and creates annoyance for the user, because they are unable to grab the scroll by moving the mouse cursor to the edge of the screen - instead aiming a little to the left is required. The scroll in Human theme has a 2-pixel wide border. Also attaching image where the border is clearly marked. ** Description changed: The new Human theme's Human controls in Ubuntu Karmic use scrollbars that have borders on maximized windows (Firefox, Nautilus, ...)
