Public bug reported: The latest updates to karmic (Oct 2) required a restart. There was also a dialogue window about whether to delete 5 (6?) obsolete files. The "restart required" flashed up a moment after the "delete?" window and covered it. I chose "restart later" which allowed me to get at the confirmation delete the obsolete files.
I don't know whether just hitting "restart" would have caused problems. If yes, then that sequence needs cleaning up before the next batch of updates requiring a restart. (Karmic looks beautiful, fast, and stable, by the way! :D ) ProblemType: Bug Architecture: i386 Date: Sat Oct 3 19:14:51 2009 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 9.10 Package: update-manager 1:0.125.6 PackageArchitecture: all ProcEnviron: LANG=en_US.UTF-8 SHELL=/bin/bash ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.31-11.38-generic SourcePackage: update-manager Uname: Linux 2.6.31-11-generic i686 ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-bug i386 -- update requests restart at wrong time https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/441889 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
