[Bug 442683] Re: Upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10 - could not install the upgrades

2011-03-23 Thread Tim Casey
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to look at all
reported bugs in a timely manner. There have been many changes in Ubuntu
since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been
fixed with some of the updates.

It would help us a lot if you could test a current, supported, Ubuntu
version. If you test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate
if you could update this bug

[Bug 442683] Re: Upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10 - could not install the upgrades

2009-10-08 Thread lophiomys
Confirmed
on a Thinkpad T42p running Kubuntu 9.04 with all updates.
The Network Upgrade just stops after downloading with a non-helpful error
message.
The remedy command dpkg --configure -a does not help.
KPackageManager displays now about 480 upgradable packages and 350 blocked
packages!

[Bug 442683] Re: Upgrading from 9.04 to 9.10 - could not install the upgrades

2009-10-04 Thread Sam Azer

* Attempting to upgrade via the Alternate CD upgrade method produced an error
message indicating that there was a problem with the dependencies for a package
called:

openoffice.org-filter-binfilter

* manually removed this package

* upgrade is now installing.

As far as I can tell the only difference between the Alternate CD
Upgrade and the network upgrade is that the terminal appeared
immediately when running the Alternate CD Upgrade. This was all I needed
to see the error message and solve the problem.

Thanks again!
