There is a work around noted at this launchpad location that works with the only known error to have occurred with this printer. https://bugs.launchpad.net/hplip/+bug/452307 This has already been Upstreamed once to HP via ubuntu Not sure if there is anything the Linux Mint Team can do to resolve this issue more.
