Actually I just fixed this bug. Turns out in the Sound Preferences applet under hardware it was set as Analog Stereo Output. It should have been Analog Stereo Duplex. Sorry about the lack of information. I didn't know which application to upload with since this was a system wide problem. No software involving a microphone works. However, I uploaded the data requested.
