USB 1.1 Webcam getting the huffman messages: libv4lconvert: Error decompressing JPEG: unknown huffman code: libv4lconvert: Error decompressing JPEG: unknown huffman code: libv4lconvert: Error decompressing JPEG: unknown huffman code: libv4lconvert: Error decompressing JPEG: unknown huffman code: using webcam-server. Also affects me. I have HP PB 4720s laptop with 05c8:0403 Cheng Uei Precision Industry Co., Ltd (Foxlink) webcam. And the cam is totally not usable because every 15-20 seconds video freezes forever (until I restart it). Hi arky, If you could also please test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. I'm not getting the Huffman code errors, just the fill_nbit ones. Otherwise, the symptoms are like those above. It starts out as a green screen while the errors start printing. The top few rows of pixels appear and seem to get updated. I poked around with this, and tried to install the mercurial version of uvcvideo failed at that and then reinstalled my kernel. Once I reinstalled my kernel, cheese became usable. I still get a few huffman code errors here and there but not enough make cheese unusable. I am using a logitech webcam c200 with ubuntu 9.04. I see these huffman code errors and visible artifacts on screen.
