Restarted with a fresh install of Ubuntu 9.10 from LXF 127 Using Brother solution center. Download loaded the two files for MFC210C Printer is a MFC215C - Have to used 210 Drivers. With other commands from a Ubuntu How to install MFC210C document Managed to get Brother printer to work. What is not clear, should this have worked with Karmic Koala? Don't ask for any more detail, unable to supply. Printer now working. One fact I did find out Brother printers MFC465CN and MFC215C will not work in Ubuntu 9.10 AMD 64 bit. They only work in 32bit. This can now be closed.
