Ubunto 14.04 After update happend on 05 june 2015. Was working fine before. For me, Thunderbird (+Lightning) just pops up into the foreground without stealing focus. But it's annoying as hell, because it seems to emit some notification which is instantly removed again. And thus, the main window pops up every few minutes without any important message.
