I already give it a try with my QuiEstLa project: https://launchpad.net/quiestla. I did it for Shotwell in this way: Provide an OpenCV client embedded into a D-Bus application. My project is working, and need some review / optimizations. It's a client/server application. I already described how to start it and use the client application to test it.
