I confirm this hang on booting. I just upgraded to linux 686...-25 and now i got a hang for 2-3 minutes on mounting the root filesystem. Before I used the kernel 386-23. I even noticed that coming back from suspend(sleep) takes longer now than before, but I might be wrong. I will investigate on this. -- hang after Uncompressing Linux... The boot option acpi=noirq does not help. I'm also experiencing this, or something similar, with kernel 15-23. I regularly get a 2 minute delay after the line Mounting root file system... is displayed. However, occasionally it only stops for 10 to 20 seconds at this point. I haven't been able to work out what I've done differently to change the delay - it seems to be random. This happens both on cold boots, and when resuming from hibernate. -- hang after Uncompressing Linux...
