I was trying and xfs partition. andi5 says that he had the same problem and that it was b/c of the XFS filesystem. Apparently his worked with a jfs install. I installed using text mode and got it up and running. The screen went blank for a bit but ipressed enter after the HDD indicator stopped and it rebooted and now I am in. I think I have seen the same: the installer repeatedly crashes at 95% :( One question: What file system is /boot on? I was able to install dapper finally, after having realized that maybe there was just an unfetched warning about grub having problems with xfs file systems.
