Public bug reported: Binary package hint: firefox
I've been running the Firefox and Thunderbird daily builds since Thunderbird 3.0 came out on Ubuntu 9.10. I have Sun Java 6-15-1 installed. I had no problems until last night with Java not working in Firefox 3.5.... working. There was an Ubuntu security update installed last night and also updates to Firefox. After the update I saw Java wasn't working in Firefox 3.5.8pre. It was too late to play with it. Today my work computer had security updates and also Firefox updates which took Firefox to 3.6pre. I lost Java in Firefox in that machine also. When a site requiring Java is loaded, Firefox says there are missing plugins. Clicking on the notification suggests the Iced Tea or the Sun Java plugins. If I click on the Sun plugin, it tells me it is already installed. I've tried relaoding the page. Closing the browser and reopening the page, completely uninstalling Java and reinstalling it, with complete shutdowns in the process. And completely uninstalling Firefox and Java, doing a complete shutdown, then reinstalling Firefox, and then reinstalling the plugin through the Firefox missing plugin links, but the plugin will still not work. If you try to install it again after that, it still says it is installed. Please let me know if I can provide any further information. ** Affects: firefox (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Neither Sun Java Plugin or Iced Tea Java plugin works - 3.5.8pre and 3.6pre https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/511019 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
