[Bug 520610] Re: mongodb sync request

2010-03-01 Thread Richard M Kreuter
IIUC, the next step here is to request a freeze exception. Release
managers: we (10gen) receive frequent requests for mongodb packages, and
think it'd be helpful to Ubuntu users who want to use mongodb if there
were in Lucid. Debian's accepted it; could we get it into Lucid?

[Bug 520610] Re: mongodb sync request

2010-03-01 Thread Scott Kitterman
Given the they could have just asked to have the development version
synced into Ubuntu, but instead did the right thing and had the stable
version uploaded to Debian first, I'll ack the FFe for the new package.
I'll do the archive admin New review when it hits. Please get a sponsor
review and make this a proper sync request.

Just make sure to follow the sync request procedure at [1] and hopefully
everything can get worked out.

[Bug 520610] Re: mongodb sync request

2010-02-26 Thread Richard M Kreuter
Evidently the debian packager has chosen to use an epoch number, rather
than a different package name, for the stable mongodb release 1.2.2.

http://packages.debian.org/sid/mongodb

Could we have this synced into Lucid?

[Bug 520610] Re: mongodb sync request

2010-02-19 Thread Richard M Kreuter
We'd like to have a stable MongoDB version in official releases of
Debian and Ubuntu. 1.3.x is our unstable/development branch, and IMO
it was sort of a mistake that that's what got into Debian sid.

Maybe this will help: as of a couple days ago, there is a mongodb-1.2
package in Debian's new package queue at

http://ftp-master.debian.org/new.html

So perhaps the package we'd like synced is mongodb-1.2.

2010-02-18 Thread Richard M Kreuter
I don't exactly understand the contents of but #399470, but the debian
packaging files in the Debian package are up to date and functional.
(They're essentially the same as the files in mongodb's upstream github
master, too.)

[Bug 520610] Re: mongodb sync request

2010-02-18 Thread Gabe Gorelick
What I mean is, this package has to first exist before it can be updated
to a new version. Although, I don't really understand your sync request.
What do you mean you are asking Debian to downgrade to 1.2.2 and that
that's what you want in Lucid? Bug #399470 is getting 1.3.1 in Ubuntu.
Do you mean you want to separately package 1.2.2 as well?

Needs to be packaged first (see bug #399470).
