2010-03-19 Thread Robert Hooker
fglrx-installer (2:8.721-0ubuntu1) lucid; urgency=low

  * New upstream release:
- Restore compatibility with kernel 2.6.32 and xserver 1.7 (LP: #494699).
- Add Passive Stereo support on workstation (FireGL/FirePro) hardware.
- Add Eyefinity support (more than 2 monitors on Radeon HD 5xxx hardware).
Officially WS-only but should work on consumer boards as well.
  * Port packaging to the new alternatives system (LP: #258038).

Date: Wed, 17 Mar 2010 10:14:45 +0100

2010-03-16 Thread Robert Hooker
fglrx does not support xserver 1.7 which is used in lucid yet
unfortunately, and there is no ETA on a release which does outside of
the assurance from ATI that there will be one ready by release time.

2010-03-04 Thread node42
Tried again with Ubuntu (instead of Kubuntu this time) 10.4 Alpha 3 and
Catalyst 10.1 drivers. Installation of the drivers went over fine. The
error display is the same dlopen:
/usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.so: undefined symbol:
UpdateSpriteForScreen as reported with Kubuntu 10.4 Alpha 2.

2010-02-25 Thread Anzenketh
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This bug did not have a package associated with it, which
is important for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper
developers. You can learn more about finding the right package at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. I have classified this
bug as a bug in xorg.

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

2010-02-23 Thread dino99

i run Lucid (daily updated) with nvidia current and 195.36 driver installed,
and kernel only activate nvidia-current ( system -- admin -- hardware
drivers), can't activate 195.36.
Looking at Xorg.0.log, i have this error: ioctl EVIOCGNAME failed:
Inappropriate ioctl for device.

Hi,

I got the same issue as above.

HW: HP TM2 1090eg netvertible laptop with ATI Radeon X4500 mobility and

wanted to try out the proprietary catalyst drivers as HDMI output is not
working with opensource drivers.
