[Bug 527313] Re: after last update the network manager does not connect to wireless network

2010-02-27 Thread Michael-Olaf
Same with me. eth0 and wifi works, broadband not (I use blueman-applet
for this). I also realized that after diasabling the source mentioned
above, I do nat have a source anymore for the following packages. Maybe
this causes the broadband problem, but I do not really know...

libnm-glib2
libnm-util1
modemmanager
network-manager-pptp
network-manager-vpnc

2010-02-27 Thread Mitch Towner
I was also hit by the network-manager trunk build bug yesterdat. It seems to
only affect dhcp. As a work-around you can setup a static IP address still be
able to use the trunk build of network-manager. Also you could try using the
network-manager PPA as it is has updated versions of the packages you require
but is not affected by the dhcp related issue.

Yes, I have IPv6 set to ignore. Network-manager still fails to obtain
an IP. This issue is only present when using dhcp. If a manual IP is
set, network-manager connects immediately.

[Bug 527313] Re: after last update the network manager does not connect to wireless network

2010-02-25 Thread Anzenketh
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Please execute the following command, as it will
automatically gather debugging information, in a terminal:

apport-collect -p nm-applet 527313

This will help us to find and resolve the problem. Bear in mind that you
may need to install the python-launchpadlib package from the universe
repository. Additionally, when prompted to give apport-collect
permissions for Launchpad you will need to give it at least the ability
to Change Non-Private data as it will be adding information to your
bug report. Thanks in advance!

When reporting bugs in the future please use apport, either via the
appropriate application's Help - Report a Problem menu or using
'ubuntu-bug' and the name of the package affected. You can learn more
about this functionality at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ReportingBugs.

[Bug 527313] Re: after last update the network manager does not connect to wireless network

2010-02-25 Thread Michael-Olaf
One more comment: this does not only affect wlan but every network
connection. So after an update an unexperienced user will not have
anymore network access and is therefore also not able to update to a
future patch or request information from the community.

Because of this I strongly propose to imediatly DISABLE the update in
Synaptic to the new version of 24.02.2010.

click on about.

[Bug 527313] Re: after last update the network manager does not connect to wireless network

2010-02-24 Thread Anzenketh
I also had this issue however do not anymore Try running your updates to
see if you still have the issue. I also changed your affected package to
network-manager from ubuntuone-client. As that sounds like the issue
that you are having. Please verify that this was done correctly.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't start working on it yet, because
your bug report didn't include enough information.

Please include the information requested at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingNetworkManager. If you have trouble,
please do not hesitate to ask for more assistance. Thanks in advance.
