Not an acpi-support issue ** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-i810 (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: acpi-support = xserver-xorg-video-i810 -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/52777 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
This bug still remains in kernel 2.6.17-11 in Ubuntu 6.10. I tried the kernel 2.6.20-9 and acpi-support 0.91 from feisty, same problem, not working yet... Any idea ? Shall we give up ? -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
I upgraded to edgy, and the problem still exists there. Switch screen with ALT F7 doesn't work (after kernel is up). Are they going to solve it? This is a very annoying bug, and it exists for more than half year ! -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
The problem still has not been resolved for me: Clone mode does not work - the problem is that resolution of the two different monitors is not the same, so Section Device Identifier Intel Corporation Mobile Integrated Graphics Controller Driver i810 BusID PCI:0:2:0 Option MonitorLayout CRT,LFP Option Clone true EndSection Doens't help, since you can't really work with the larger monitor. You can't even upgrade the resolution, since you are limited by the laptop monitor's resolution. I am still looking for a solution... -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
Clone mode (what Fn-F7 *should* do) works by displaying the contents of a display through two outputs of the *same* resolution. The Xinerama multihead support allows a large desktop area cross two displays, which may, or may not, be the same resolution. -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
As you said Xinerama, multihead support allows a large desktop area cross two displays. This is not what I want. I want the standard usage of a laptop - Be able to see on both screens the same (but with different resolution). -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
I also have this problem on my X60s. Fn +F7 works in Grub-menu, during Windows startup and in Windows but as soon as the Ubuntu kernel has booted it stops work. I can get it to work in Clone-mode. -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
Can you please help me here? Again, as I mentioned, adding Option Clone on doesn't seem to help. -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
IIRC, restarting X or setting X up to use Clone mode should be enough as a workaround for you for the moment. ** Changed in: acpi-support (Ubuntu) Status: Unconfirmed = Needs Info -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 52777] Re: laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work
Can you please elaborate: - IIRC - what is it? - restarting X - doesn't help. Only reboot helps ! - Setting X to use Clone mode - I added the line Option Clone on to Section ServerLayout in the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf It didn't help (no change - still only one screen, and need reboot inorder to switch). -- laptop thinkpad X60s switch screen doesn't work https://launchpad.net/bugs/52777 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
