[Bug 533271] Re: panel xthickness and ythickness gtkrc parameters lead to strange artifacts with load monitor panel applet

2010-03-08 Thread Davide Lasagna
I've tested the content of the branch. I think that you should change
for both Radiance and Ambiance themes this setting:

style panel {

xthickness = value
ythickness = value

bg[NORMAL] = #faf7ee
bg_pixmap[NORMAL] = panel_bg.png
engine murrine {
roundness = 0
}
}

xthickness and ythickness should have a value of one for the best
appearance.

For the Ambiance theme this was set to 0 and 0 (x and y thicknesses).
For the Radiance them it was still 4 and 0.

Still needs some little tweak.

Cheers
Davide

[Bug 533271] Re: panel xthickness and ythickness gtkrc parameters lead to strange artifacts with load monitor panel applet

2010-03-06 Thread Davide Lasagna

** Attachment added: panel parameters.tar.gz
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/40341190/panel%20parameters.tar.gz

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: light-themes

  Running latest Lucid Lynx updates.

  i usually put a the load monitor applet in the panel. For both radiance
  and ambience theme there is a mistuned parameter for the panel in the
  respective gtkrc file. This lead to a strange artifact at the left and
  right side of this applet, but also to the workspace switcher apple.

  I'm talking about this section in the gtkrc files

  style panel {

- xthickness = 4
- ythickness = 0
+ xthickness = 4
+ ythickness = 0

- bg[NORMAL] = #faf7ee
- bg_pixmap[NORMAL] = panel_bg.png
- engine murrine {
- roundness = 0
- }
+ bg[NORMAL] = #faf7ee
+ bg_pixmap[NORMAL] = panel_bg.png
+ engine murrine {
+ roundness = 0
+ }
  }

-
- Try using a value of 1 for both x and y thicknesses. It lead to a better view
with no artifacts.
+ Try using a value of 1 for both x and y thicknesses. It lead to a better
+ view with no artifacts.

  Find attached two screenshot presenting the difference.

  Cheers
+
+ P.S. It should very fast to change this!
