New version of efax-gtk now replaces efax (now part of efax-gtk). Original efax has legal issues and probably will be renamed. As for me, efax should be considered as superseded by efax-gtk. I tried compiling from source. Running configure ends with an error: configure: error: Library requirements (glib-2.0 = 2.10.0) not met; consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if your libraries are in a nonstandard prefix so pkg-config can find them. No glib to find in synaptic. Thanks for the tip about compiling from source, now I installed efax-gtk 3.2.1 and it works fine.
