2014-08-25 Thread Scott Ritchie
This bug seems very old and not applicable to the modern packages --
please reconfirm if it's still relevant. Thank you!

2010-04-05 Thread Graham Inggs
See http://forum.boxee.tv/showthread.php?p=94985#post94985

We have added experimental support for Ubuntu 10.04 in the version
released today.

I'm downloading boxee-0.9.20.10710.x86_64.deb now,

[Bug 544118] Re: Backwards compatability from libcdio10 to libcdio7 not recognised in gdebi

2010-04-04 Thread n/a
To get Boxee running, install the packages linked by tamim7 and then put
this command into the terminal:

sudo ln -s /usr/lib/libfaad.so /usr/lib/libfaad.so.0

Works for me on 10.04 x64.

[Bug 544118] Re: Backwards compatability from libcdio10 to libcdio7 not recognised in gdebi

2010-04-02 Thread DGS
I followed tamim7's instructions and can concur that the installer runs, but
boxee does not. In a terminal, cd /opt/boxee and ran ./run-boxee-desktop
yields:
da...@ubuntu-home-desktop:/opt/boxee$ ./run-boxee-desktop
/opt/boxee/Boxee: error while loading shared libraries: libfaad.so.0: cannot
open shared object file: No such file or directory
./run-boxee-desktop: 38: /opt/boxee/give_me_my_mouse_back: not found

Any ideas?

[Bug 544118] Re: Backwards compatability from libcdio10 to libcdio7 not recognised in gdebi

2010-04-02 Thread Harry Kran-Annexstein
I'm running 10.04 32 bit. Initially I was unable to even install boxee,
but after downloading the linked packages from tamim I was able to. But
like the rest, boxee wont open for me. A fix for this would be greatly
appreciated.

[Bug 544118] Re: Backwards compatability from libcdio10 to libcdio7 not recognised in gdebi

2010-03-31 Thread tamim7
To get the boxee package installer to work in ubuntu 10.4 64-bit, I had
to install the following packages first:

http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/libcdio7
http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/python2.4-minimal
http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/python2.4
http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/libtre4

After that, the boxee installation works... it automatically fetches 24
packages to be installed with it. I have attached the packages that it
fetches as a screenshot.

BUT, BOXEE STILL DOES NOT WORK. The program starts and displays
starting boxee... in the taskbar, then disappears.

Also, I'm not sure if installing the above packages affects anything on
the system.

Any ideas?

2010-03-24 Thread Michael Jonker
Sorry. Late night work, big fingers, small smartphone. Meant to say:

Not that I am aware of. Hope I can get boxee working with the post beta
release of Lucid. This may be a bug with Gdebi, or just a case that
Boxee needs to catch up with libcdio. They are also at beta.
