[Bug 548967] Re: gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread()
Using libmtp8 package from karmic solved the problem for me too. I'm using Trisquel 4.0 which is bassed in Ubuntu 10.04 (lucid) on an amd 64 bit architecture. [Bug 548967] Re: gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread()
Shouldn't this bug be filed under libmtp8 package instead, since apparently that's the source of the problem. Using libmtp8 from karmic is a workaround, not a solution. [Bug 548967] Re: gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread()
No. You can use Lucid. First : you have to uninstall libmtp8 from Synpatic. It will also uninstall gnomad2 and Rhythmbox-plugins. You have to note packages that are also uninstalled. Then you install the libmtp8 package from Karmic. You can find it there : http://packages.ubuntu.com/karmic/libmtp8 Finaly, in Synaptic, you have to block the version on libmtp8 (so it will not be updated again to the Lucid version), you can do that from the Package menu, and to reinstall gnomad2 and Rhythmbox-plugins, and eventually other packages uninstalled during the first step. -- gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 548967] Re: gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread()
Ok ive did most of what you said above and now gnomad2 works again. One thing i couldn't do was block libmtp8 from being downloaded again over synaptic-not sure what what you meant here... I did find this update in the update manager (see attachment)-is this what you meant not to be downloaded again? ** Attachment added: Screenshot.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/47921752/Screenshot.png -- gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 548967] Re: gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread()
To lock the version, you have to follow these steps for example : http://www.ubuntugeek.com/how-to-lock-package-versions-from-synaptic- package-manager.html After that, the update manager will not propose you to update libmtp8 anymore. -- gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 548967] Re: gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread()
Yes, in order to install the Karmic version, you have to before uninstall your current version (and gnomad2, and rhythmbox-plugins). You can then reinstall these package. note : the Karmic version of libmtp make Rhythmbox crashing when it tries to connect my player using the MTP library. -- gnomad2 crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/548967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
