Thanks for this bug report I'm pretty sorry to see that you didn't get someone to look at this bug report. Therefore, in order to make sure it has been fixed, can-you confirm if you can reproduce this issue with latest Ubuntu PPC live CD? ( You can find them here http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ports/releases/7.10/release/ ).
