Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-sis

My laptop with a sis630 chipset ran dapper sis fine, since edgy the sis
driver and xorg doesn't play nicely.

can boot up, with the sis driver enable in xorg.conf, but when gdm is
loaded, it flickers and dies... no keyboard input or anything can be
done.

removed sis in xorg.conf and set it to vesa, it boots up nicely and
shows the gdm login screen.

can't find anything in the var/log , or dmesg... because I can boot up
in simple user mode, and all is fine, with the sis driver...but starting
the xserver will cause a system failure wich includes the keyboard and
mouse...

** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-sis (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Untriaged
