[Bug 596020] Re: feature request: disengaged or full-speed level
T410s here: level 7 = ~4500 RPM full-speed= 6000 RPM. Encoding a movie. I could use those 6000 RPM now with thinkfan -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/596020 Title: feature request: disengaged or full-speed level To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thinkfan/+bug/596020/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 596020] Re: feature request: disengaged or full-speed level
for me, full-speed is noticable different from level 7. using cpubirnK7 to max out just one cpu core, i got the temperature to rise to 82 °C with the fan going it level 7. IT was still climbin when I set it to full-speed manually, which caused the fan to speed up and brought the temp down quickly. please just allow non-numeric values for fan speeds in the config file. thanks! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/596020 Title: feature request: disengaged or full-speed level To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/thinkfan/+bug/596020/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 596020] Re: feature request: disengaged or full-speed level
addendum: i'm using 0.7.1 (as bundeled by current ubuntu) and havn't tried 0.7.3. My point is mainly that 7 is *not* the same as full- speed.

[Bug 596020] Re: feature request: disengaged or full-speed level
this is now possible in 0.7.3-1 that just hit debian unstable. you *may* need to use 127 as disengaged.
