[Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
Enrico, what happens if you do the following? In gconf-editor, set apps-gnome-power-manager-use_profile_time to FALSE (unchecked). I found (in bug 120258) that this solved my battery discharge time issue. ** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Needs Info -- [EDGY] Battery problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/60096 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
Marked as confirmed based on attached logs - but probably not a g-p-m bug: lshal shows charging==false, discharging==true, while running on AC (so g-p-m appears to be doing the right thing - it sees battery as active). Leaving it to wiser minds to direct to kernel or HAL. ** Changed in: gnome-power-manager (Ubuntu) Status: Needs Info = Confirmed -- [EDGY] Battery problem https://launchpad.net/bugs/60096 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
Enrico, let the battery charge until you are quite sure that it is fully charged, then run the lshal command again and attach the output. This could be a HAL problem (HAL getting the battery detection wrong) or a BIOS problem (the BIOS not reporting the battery state properly). Providing the absolutely fully charged lshal output may assist in figuring this out. -- [EDGY] Battery problem https://launchpad.net/bugs/60096 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
Hi Peter, The battery was fully charged. You can see in the screenshot that also the applet of the battery shows it as charged. [Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
Enrico, since the battery is fully charged, can you please run lshal and attach the output? Thanks. (I know you attached one in September but we need one from release Edgy where we know the battery is at 100%. The September lshal shows the battery as charging and at a bit more than 82%). Thanks, I really appreciate your patience and efforts! -- [EDGY] Battery problem https://launchpad.net/bugs/60096 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
Hi peter! I tried Edgy final and the bug is still present. I attached a screenshot of the icon that don't disappear when the battery is fully charged and the dmidecode output. [Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
Enrico, have you upgrade to Edgy final release Ubuntu 6.10)? If so, is the problem still present? If so, can you attach the output of dmidecode as well (I'm having trouble identifying your system from the lshal output). -- [EDGY] Battery problem https://launchpad.net/bugs/60096 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
Hi! I've made a clean install with Knot3 as you have suggested but the problem is still present. Moreover I've noticed that if I push the power-off button , nothing happens (I've selected When power button is pressed Ask me).. [Bug 60096] Re: [EDGY] Battery problem
