Well, on new Ubuntu 13.10 Eclipse menus don't render correctly. This seems to be because SWT doesn't emit the "realize" signal that appmenu-gtk watches for to start populating the menu. Just to make it clear to others: This "fix" is actually a workaround for not using the global menu in eclipse.
