I have a WG311T and it works out-of-box in Hardy (as reported by okparanoid also). I'm experiencing the same issue, using an up-to-date Kubuntu Hardy Heron. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. I've since found that the Netgear works with the older version of the Kernel. It is disabled in the two more recent versions of the Kernel which installed after upgrades.
