@mabawsa: I haven't had problems since then either. I hadn't been doing
a lot of big transfers (which usually expose the problem), but not a
single problem in over a month makes me believe that the bug has indeed
been fixed.

The funny thing is that when I rdp or vnc or nx to server machines the 
connection is perfectly stable. When I minimise a remote session or use the 
computer for normal downloading I get random wlan drops (although its still 
connected to the router). I will try the latest wlan backports for 
2.6.32-25-generic and report back.
The wireless connection is n.
