[Bug 626164] Re: maverick-netbook-i386.iso fatal error booting
I had the same problem on my Sony Vaio P. Tried several USB sticks and all available boot disk creators on Windows and Linux. 9.04 worked created on 9.04. The solution: Add memmap=1K#0x7f80 to the Boot Options on startup. Therefore press ESC as soon as the purple screen appears. Press F6 and write memmap=1K#0x7f80 after quiet splash. http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=10074653#post10074653 -- maverick-netbook-i386.iso fatal error booting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/626164 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 626164] Re: maverick-netbook-i386.iso fatal error booting
Also solved for original post. The UNetbootin v494 worked with the new Ubuntu 10.10 release. I now have the ubuntu-10.10-netbook-i386.iso installed on my Acer Aspire One AOD260 using the USB pendrive. I'd like to remove my earlier submission (#6). On closer inspection this is not the same bug. [Bug 626164] Re: maverick-netbook-i386.iso fatal error booting
I've had this issue with the Beta netbook build and with the daily netbook build as of today (26th September 2010). I've used multiple USB keys and written the image with both Imagewriter and Startup Disk Creator and it fails this same way with every permutation. I'm running an Acer Aspire One ZG5, 512MB RAM, 8GB SSD. -- maverick-netbook-i386.iso fatal error booting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/626164 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 626164] Re: maverick-netbook-i386.iso fatal error booting
Hi Steven, Please be sure to confirm this issue exists with the latest development release of Ubuntu. ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily/current/ . If the issue remains, please run the following command from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal). It will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux 626164 Also, if you could test the latest upstream kernel available that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs-upstream-testing' text. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. [This is an automated message. Apologies if it has reached you inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.] ** Tags added: needs-kernel-logs ** Tags added: needs-upstream-testing ** Tags added: kj-triage ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- maverick-netbook-i386.iso fatal error booting https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/626164 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
