Then I looked at my /etc/apt/sources.list
It contained all the official ubuntu repositories and their updates and so, and
all once, just as it has been with dapper.
So I did a little experiment. If I remove all the ubuntu repositories in
/etc/apt/sources.list, i can still update and install from the
repositories.
So, i looked at the /etc/apt directory and found an
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/edgy-universe.list containing the official
ubuntu repositories... but not any of the updates, backports and such.
So the weird thing is, why are the official repositories also in my
normal sources.list? I'm pretty sure it was there by default when I
installed Edgy Beta. But it's a little hard to verify now.
Perhaps this behaviour was introduced after the beta-release? If so,
then it's not a bug. If it was already like this with the beta release,
something is wrong.
I do like the new setup, I just don't understand why the file is called
edgy-universe. And why it doesn't contain the update and backport
elements.
PS. Where is the commercial repository i've heard about? It's not in
software-properties..
