This, unfortunately, is true for maverick beta as well. (eeepc 702, with atheros ar5001 card). Works ok with 100% signal but when signal drops below 80% network traffic stops or connection simply drops. The earlier report unfortunately expired. Sorry. Forget what I just said about the later version of network manager. The version in maverick beta that I tested IS already version 0.8.1, so that doesn't seem to fix anything. In the meantime I also tried substituting network-manager for wicd. Changing to wicd unfortunately doesn't solve the problem. I still can't get a usable connection when signal-strength drops belows approximately 100%.
