[Bug 653524] Re: Suspend to RAM doesn't work on Acer Aspire One with Ubuntu 10.10
Tommy_CZ, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better. This bug was reported a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue? If so, could you please provide the information following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingKernelSuspendHibernateResume ? As well, can you try with the latest development release of Ubuntu? ISO CD images are available from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/releases/ . However, note you can only test Suspend, not Hibernate, when using a LiveCD. If the issue remains, run the following command in the development release from a Terminal (Applications-Accessories-Terminal) as it will automatically gather and attach updated debug information to this report. apport-collect -p linux BUGNUMBER Additionally, if you could try to reproduce this with the upstream mainline kernel that would be great. It will allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue. Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please remove the 'needs-upstream-testing' tag. This can be done by clicking on the yellow pencil icon next to the tag located at the bottom of the bug description and deleting the 'needs- upstream-testing' text. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'. If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'. If you are unable to test the mainline kernel, for example it will not boot, please add the tag: 'kernel-unable-to-test-upstream'. Please let us know your results. Thanks in advance. ** Description changed: Hi, my Acer Aspire One have this problem: I wish to suspend it to RAM, so it is suspended, orange LED blinks and everything seems OK UNTIL I wish to wake it up, so push one key, the netbook seems come to life BUT without screen it is just black. The only option I have then is to restart computer by hard way (you know, On/Off button). - - Please, what can I do with it? p.s.: With previous kernel before update, the computer doesn't even fall a sleep so there is a progress and hopefully it is on the right way but it still needs to work on it. - Thank you very much in advance + WORKAROUND: It seems to be resolved by using proprietary drivers. [Bug 653524] Re: Suspend to RAM doesn't work on Acer Aspire One with Ubuntu 10.10
noirq wasn't a choice, I even haven't boot with it. But it worked without it and WITH proprietal drivers, but battery recongition hadn't been working without and with prop. drivers, so... I'll test it with 12.04. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/653524 Title: Suspend to RAM doesn't work on Acer Aspire One with Ubuntu 10.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/653524/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 653524] Re: Suspend to RAM doesn't work on Acer Aspire One with Ubuntu 10.10
coffeeyy wrote in comment #4: - add acpi=noirq to GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT= The acpi=noirq option breaks the detection of battery status change. There is a kernel patch available to make the battery status working on AO251. With acpi=noirq status changes (battery - powersupply and vice versa) are not propagated to the system. Only after suspend/resume the new status is recognized. The uswsusp workaround is no option if you want to have a working battery status (with the mentioned kernel patch). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/653524 Title: Suspend to RAM doesn't work on Acer Aspire One with Ubuntu 10.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/653524/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

it seems that you did not create that /etc/pm/config.d/00s2ram correctly , in VIM , use :wq to save and quit , pls remove 00s2ram.swp also , it just a file temporary created by VIM. -- Suspend to RAM doesn't work on Acer Aspire One with Ubuntu 10.10 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/653524 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
