Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-nouveau

A sure-fire way to freeze the machine is to use Rawstudio on my 12MB
NEF-files, and quicksave them to JPG. Then the machine freezes after 1-3
tries.

It also freezes quite frequently other times.

Ubuntu 10.10, xserver-xorg-nouveau 1:0.0.16+git20100805+b96170a-0ubuntu1

PS: I just installed the proprietary nvidia module, but thought I should
report this bug before. I didn't see anyone else report it. I need the
machine to not crash. This is a new Dell Precision M4500.
