Public bug reported: Binary package hint: pkgbinarymangler
If dpkg-deb.pkgbinarymangler is passed an argument that has a space in it (say "dpkg-deb.pkgbinarymangler 'foo bar'", it gets passed on to dpkg-deb as two arguments, "foo" and "bar"). I noticed it because I have pkgbinarymangler installed locally and the xdg folder for Downloads is called "Hentede Filer" in Danish. I was trying to install a deb directly from Launchpad, which downloaded it just fine, fired up software-center which in turn said that apt-daemon was probably broken. It turned out to be because "dpkg-deb -x" (called by "dpkg -i", called by apt-daemon), failed due to too many arguments being passed to it. This happened on an up-to-date Maverick system. ** Affects: pkgbinarymangler (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- dpkg-deb wrapper splits arguments with whitespace https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/681379 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
