for now, please re-open if you still experience the issue after
eliminating hardware issues.

No, it was recycled already. But I am sure only those mentioned packages
were upgraded, it came from Update Manager

I installed vanilla 10.04 on the same computer in another partition and
I am getting the same error. Looks like there is a hardware problem (it
is an old notebook with some issues) which occurred on the same morning
as I upgraded packages. I will investigate if it is the case, you can
put this bug on hold for now.

Hi. If possible could you attach the complete dmesg log from before the
bug occurred that you posted a part of in you original report?  Are you
sure there were no other package upgrades before the problem started
happening?

found [drm:r100_ring_test] *ERROR* radeon: ring test failed
