I have removed the VLC plugins and now I can see video. The WMV performance is really bad, but Quicktime is doing great. 1. removing ubuntu-desktop is no problem since this is a meta package with no contents but dependencies 2. I've installed VLC and the vlc plugin for firefox and the only thing I get is a black window and the text (no video) great. Well not quite what it was supposed to do. 3.
