Public bug reported: Binary package hint: avant-window-navigator
The automatic start function from the AWN options behaves erratically. On occasion the Ubuntu theme (Ambiance in my instance) flickers on for about half a second, but is then replaced by the default Gnome theme. Activating the theme preference window restores the Ubuntu theme in AWN and the panels - but not in Nautilus (and some other apps I suspect) This was happening at every few boots, but became permanent on my netbook for which I alternate display to my Plasma TV. I resolved the issue by unticking the 'Start AWN automatically' button and enabled AWN via my start-up application list. It now works correctly so I suspect there is a problem with the order in which the built in function is trying to start things up.
