If you're running Maverick, you're running a broken copy of an
unofficial package for nm-applet from a PPA. Please downgrade to the
original version from Maverick:  sudo apt-get install network-manager-
gnome/maverick.

Marking this as Invalid since I know these issues aren't happening in
the package in Maverick, and some similar issues have already been fixed
in Natty.
