[Bug 740821] Re: Month and year navigation items aren't keyboard-selectable

2011-10-03 Thread Matthew Paul Thomas
The menu contains items for navigating to the previous and next month
and year. It is not possible to navigate to those items with the
keyboard. That is the bug.

That there are keyboard combos for navigating between months or years
directly is a nice subtlety, but it is not a solution to this problem.
Until your comment I didn't know those combos existed (thanks, by the
way!), and I expect at least 95% of other people who opened the menu
wouldn't guess that they existed either.

The design does not involve the month changing simply by pressing arrow
keys. See for
more details of how the calendar is supposed to work.

[Bug 740821] Re: Month and year navigation items aren't keyboard-selectable

2011-10-01 Thread Cathy Koller
I don't understand this bug report. Holding down Ctrl while selecting
left/right arrow key works to change the month on my computer. Holding
down Ctrl while selecting up/down arrow key works to change the year.
What exactly is the bug?

I don't want the month changing simply from pressing the arrow keys.
That should be reserved for just navigating to dates within the month.
