[Bug 745831] Re: shotwell crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

2011-06-08 Thread Lucas Beeler
I just took a look at the stack trace. From what I can tell, this
appears to be caused by an interaction between the dbus-menu system and
the nVidia driver. This is likely neither the fault of Shotwell nor
Shotwell-specific.

Any updates on this? I was able to import photos from an SD card on
Natty with Shotwell 0.9.2 without any problem; however, I don't have an
NVIDIA graphics card.

[Bug 745831] Re: shotwell crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

2011-04-05 Thread Eric Gregory
Very odd, this seems to be occurring deep down within GLib.

Does this reproduce every time for you? Does it occur if you insert the
card while Shotwell is running? How about if you insert the card, then
start Shotwell?

I'd be interested to see if the stack traces were different in those
scenarios.

[Bug 745831] Re: shotwell crashed with SIGABRT in raise()

2011-04-05 Thread Eric Gregory
Since the NVidia driver shows up in the stack trace, could you try
updating your NVidia driver and trying again? Alternately if there's no
update available, perhaps you could try switching video drivers? (I
know this sounds strange, but the stack trace does seem to involve the
OpenGL driver for Nvidia.)

One other thing; since we're not able to reproduce this bug in-house,
could you install the debug symbols and reproduce this? That might shed
some light on the issue.

The following packages would provide the necessary debug symbols, and can be
installed through Synaptic.
libglib2.0-0-dbg
libgtk2.0-0-dbg

Thanks!
