Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

To change your preferred image viewer, you need to set the file
associations for each of the many image types. It would be great to have
an option in "Preferred Applications" to set your image viewer. (Change
from Eye of Gnome to Shotwell or kuickshow.)


As a workaround, you can use Ubuntu Tweak to set the image viewer:

Can that code be moved into "Preferred Applications"?
