Public bug reported: Binary package hint: update-manager
On the PowerPC-Platform the software behaves more or less like on i386 or amd64, except for one thing: Building the data-structure takes more than ten times longer. I don't know what's happenig in the background, all I can say is, that I haven't noticed other significantly longer lasting processes of upgrading the packages f.e. in aptitude. I'm experiencing this since I'm using Ubuntu on PowerPC, namely since maverick.
