[Bug 775518] Re: Xorg freeze
This problem is also affecting me, it seams to me that the problem is within the graphics, I believe this because while the screen was frozen I pressed the key on my laptop that disables the wireless network card, and when I rebooted the machine, the wireless networking was disabled. Also, I noticed this on a second occasion, while I had a video loading and paused, I went to unpause the video and I could hear the sounds coming out of the speakers, but the screen would never change. I am having this issue after upgrading from Ubuntu 10.10 to 11.04. Please let me know if there is anything else that I can do. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775518 Title: Xorg freeze To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/775518/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 775518] Re: Xorg freeze
The problem affect to me too, sometimes the keyboard is freezed but the mouse pointer is visible and working. Other programs are running too. Another issue that could be related is when I play in full screen and I quit the game then the display is a mess; then I have to go to terminal (ctrl+alt+Fx) and then return to the the graphical session (Ctrl+alt+F8). My laptop is a Toshica Satellite L645 with AMD 64 bits three cores processor and my video card is a ATI mobility Radeon 4280(?) with ATI installed drivers. I think is with udev part of Xorg the problem and the suspend or hibernation system because not always happen usually when the laptop is idling for long periods. My Ubuntu is 11.04 x64 and was upgraded from 10.10. If you need more information, please let me know and tell me how to do it.
Could my bug #775936 be a dup of this? It seems there are a lot of bug reports about this, the issue is serious... P.S. [Bug 775518] Re: Xorg freeze
For GPU lockup bugs on Intel, you need to collect the output of 'dmesg' and your /sys/kernel/debug/dri/0/i915_error_state file. Both of these must be collected while the machine is locked up (e.g. by sshing into the sick machine over ethernet). ** Changed in: xorg (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/775518 Title: Xorg freeze -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
