Public bug reported: Binary package hint: alsa-base
On my Fujitsu-Siemens Lifebook C1410 the sound does not work. When trying to find a solution to the problem I added the following line: options snd-hda-intel model=fujitsu #also tried ref with same result as suggested by http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=1742116 This made things both better and worse. Now I can hear a beep for example when in a shell and pressing a button that should not be pressed, eg. backspace on an empty line. However, no sound card is found according the sound application: audiotestsrc wave=sine freq=512 ! audioconvert ! audioresample ! gconfaudiosink: Could not open resource for writing (Kunde inte öppna resursen för skrivning.) Before adding the line the sound application at least started and seemed to be able to detect the soundcard, but it didnt work. ** Affects: alsa-driver (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- Alsa does not work on Fujitsu-Simens Lifebook C1410 https://launchpad.net/bugs/80215 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
