Re: [Bug 80720] Re: can't get updates: too many errors processing archives

2007-01-27 Thread isabella
hi! sorry for replying so late!
thanks for the advice, i used an Italian ubuntu-based release and ran a
system check.
after e2fsck -f -v, i could successfully perform updates with update
manager, but short
after, Update Manager closed unexpectedly and, for a couple of days, the
same occurred also with Synaptic Package Manager and the Terminal.
Now (i've done nothing!) i can use Update Manager and Synaptic, but not the
Terminal - i'm now submitting Terminal crash to BugZilla, don't know if
things are related.. -
sorry, i'm a novice user.. i wanted to append system check but it's in
Italian, i'm translating it, if you think it could help! These are the first
2 tracks

This really looks like file system corruption. Can you run a live CD and
run a file system check on your file system? (like 'sudo e2fsck -f -v
/dev/hda2' or whichever is your root partition).

[Bug 80720] Re: can't get updates: too many errors processing archives

2007-01-20 Thread Sebastian Heinlein
That seems to be a problem of the corresponding package and not update
manager.

Please append the full terminal output.

Thanks,

Sebastian
