Sorry, didnt research this enough and thought sensible-browser was a Fedora only thing. Sorry, will fix and prepare another debdiff. ** Changed in: streamtuner (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = David Futcher (bobbo) Status: Confirmed = In Progress -- Streamtuner in need of defaults change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

But if audacious gets the default player, then it has to be installed with streamtuner automaticly. -- Streamtuner in need of defaults change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 80786] Re: Streamtuner in need of defaults change
Frederyk: The way I have set it up is that I recommend you use Audacious, which means it is automatically installed. I dont think it should be a dependency, as the program will function (in part) without it. We dont really want to be depending unnecesarily on general purpose applications. -- Streamtuner in need of defaults change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 80786] Re: Streamtuner in need of defaults change
Temporary fix until this can be fixed sanely upstream (or not, as far as I can tell upstream is fairly dead...). Use audacious as default player and firefox as default web browser. Also fixes Bug #110646. Subscribing u-u-s. ** Attachment added: streamtuner_0.99.99-13ubuntu2.debdiff http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17471900/streamtuner_0.99.99-13ubuntu2.debdiff ** Changed in: streamtuner (Ubuntu) Assignee: David Futcher (bobbo) = (unassigned) -- Streamtuner in need of defaults change https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/80786 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 80786] Re: Streamtuner in need of defaults change
Confirmed, but I'm not sure how likely it is to get fixed. I guess this is so because it appears that upstream for streamtuner is dead? A pity because the basic functionality is there and with some modernising and fooling about it could be a nice little app. To the original poster, I would suggest not changing xmms to totem but instead pulling the required media player out of the code and instead referencing whatever is selected as 'preferred multimedia player', which is probably going to be totem, but could also be Rhythmbox or anything else (even XMMS!). In the meantime, whilst streamtuner is fixed or a better gnome based solution found, kstreamripper probably has most of the functionality that people interested in this subject would want. [Bug 80786] Re: Streamtuner in need of defaults change
Confirmed, but I'm not sure how likely it is to get fixed. This was already reported and partially fixed in https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/46124 (by adding xmms to the suggests). But that doesn't help the end-user much: they still start the program, try to play something with it, and get the message Failed to execute child process xmms (no such file or directory). Unfortunately, choice of station is hard-coded into the source (src/streamtuner/st-preselections.c) rather than in a configuration file. ** Changed in: streamtuner (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Low Status: Unconfirmed = Confirmed -- Streamtuner in need of defaults change https://launchpad.net/bugs/80786 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
