Maybe you could attach a screenshot showing the maximized panel in
middle of the screen?

That's non problem with non-maximized panels, cf bug #39856, which is
not your case if you didn't change the configuration. Marking
unconfirmed, low importance, to forward upstream by somebody having that
problem

** Changed in: gnome-panel (Ubuntu)
   Status: Needs Info => Unconfirmed

** Also affects: gnome-panel (upstream)

[Bug 83017] Re: Bottom Panel position

2007-02-04 Thread GortiZ
No, i have not changed anything after the installation of Ubuntu.. (exept some
packet installation as wine, etc...) after the installation of wine i have ran
steaminstaller.exe with wine, next i added the thaoma font to the
.wine/drive_c/windows/font directory as written in the www. winehq.org site and
after i have ran steam. Installed the Counter Strike 1.6 and double cliccked on
the name to make the game run.
The standard resolution of the game was 640x480 so my screen switched to
640x480 i setted the game to run at 1024x768 (i prefer this config but my
screen is 1400x1050) then i played a bit. when i exit from the game the bottom
pannel was situated at the middle of the screen so i had deleted the pannel and
maked another one identical then i have rebooted and the second time that i ran
the game the pannel change position as before (the first time at the height of
480px and the second one at 768px).

Thank you for your bug. Do you use a floating panel? did you change from
the stock configuration?
