[Bug 84561] Re: new mplayer gives garbage audio output
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 85751 *** The problem seems to be that mp3lib does strange things on some systems. The message about libmad is harmless: libmad isn't enabled in the Ubuntu builds. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 85751 Distorted MP3 sound -- new mplayer gives garbage audio output https://launchpad.net/bugs/84561 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 84561] Re: new mplayer gives garbage audio output
Same problem here, I'm running 1.0~rc1-0ubuntu3 with Feisty up-to-date. I get an error when I'm trying to watch a video: Trying to force audio codec driver family libmad... Requested audio codec family [mad] (afm=libmad) not available. Enable it at compilation. I just get noise out of the speakers. It was working fine with the 0.99+1.0pre8-0ubuntu8 version. Maybe something is missing in the package? -- new mplayer gives garbage audio output https://launchpad.net/bugs/84561 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
Re: [Bug 84561] Re: new mplayer gives garbage audio output
As a hint, compiling the current tarball from mplayerhq, you get a package with exactly the same problem. (method: sudo apt-get build-dep mplayer; fakeroot debian/binary) So most likely the devil is in the libaries (maybe libmad). -- new mplayer gives garbage audio output https://launchpad.net/bugs/84561 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
